Copper Textiles

The wonder of copper

I love to explore copper in textiles

Introducing copper with weaving and knitting is like using a metallic jewel with fibre. It can be tricky to work with, but that is part of the charm and the challenge in producing a thing of beauty.

I blended my copper and painted silk weaving with Bombyx cocoons to create Dancing Silk Cocoons.
These Dancing Silk Cocoons are suspended in the flow of a copper and silk background.
And then I played with Cricula cocoons for this piece named Ripples.
I love the dimension that the cocoons bring.

This is Moon. The Cricula cocoon was so perfect for this piece.
